The first NES/Famicom: Ghosts ‘n Goblins (Capcom, 1986)

This classically tough game was the first mainstream Zombie game and the first for the famed Nintendo Entertainment System.

This 1985 arcade game by Capcom was a true coin eater, as kids had to become insanely good to progress through this game. It's known for its brutal difficulty, right out of the gate in the first level.

Finding this best zombie video game factory sealed is extremely difficult. There are several versions, and this being a 1986 NES title the first version comes with a cardboard hangtab.

There are only a handful of this first print known to exist, but any version of this game in a factory sealed condition is highly sought-after.

Additionally, CIBS of this game have also become collectible over the years; finding a carboard hangtab example, even in CIB, can be a long-term goal if looking for a mint example.

The birth of the survival horror game genre as we know it started here. Anyone who played this game in 1996 will never forget the tense scenes, insanely gorgeous graphics, interesting puzzles and eerie soundtrack.

The early PS1 games were released in a "Long Box", an over-sized cardboard box.  Eventually they would move over to the sleek jewel case format popularized by music CDs of the era.

Finding a factory sealed example, especially the 1st print long box variation, is one of the most difficult tasks in retro game collecting.
